By accessing or using Splitr ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Splitr is a bill-splitting application that allows users to:

  • Create groups for organizing shared expenses
  • Upload receipt images for automatic line item extraction
  • Assign items to participants and calculate fair shares
  • Share expense breakdowns with participants via unique links

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload to the Service (such as receipt images). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content you upload and represent that you have the right to share such content.

6. AI-Powered Features

The Service uses artificial intelligence to extract information from receipt images. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that extracted information will be error-free. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data before use.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting an update on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.
